Established in 1999, Michael M. Simpson + Associates, Inc. (MMSA, Inc.) is a 100% minority-owned, SDB structural engineering firm with a presence in Greenville, South Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; and Charlotte, North Carolina. The MMSA staff includes seven (7) registered professional engineers, with our designers and engineers averaging over 30 years of experience in structural engineering. Our design team has experience with projects ranging in size from 100 SF to 900,000 GSF and construction cost from less than $250,000 up to $400 million. Collectively, MMSA’s design-build projects estimated construction cost exceeds $2.2 billion.
With substantial resources available to MMSA, we are committed to successfully satisfying our clients’ demands. Moreover, our depth of resources ensures that we can quickly accommodate a myriad of client changes. We are proficient in SpecsIntact, and we have computer software for 3D structural analysis and Building Information Modeling (BIM). We also use AutoDesk Revit Structure, AutoCAD, as well as MicroStation to deliver our end products.
Michael M. Simpson, P.E. serves as President / CEO of MMSA. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (class of 1982). He currently holds licenses to practice structural engineering in 18 states, with 39 years of experience in structural framing and foundation design of steel and reinforced concrete buildings, parking garages, and building construction administration / inspection. Mr. Simpson has specialized experience in reinforced concrete, masonry, steel-framed structures, precast bridges / tunnels, structural inspection, study and design of additions, alterations and repairs to timber.
