As part of Clemson University’s overall Master Plan, MMSA provided a seismic analysis evaluation, structural engineering design and construction administration services for renovating the 7,000 sf Sheep Barn for adaptive reuse as the Barnes Student Activity Center. Originally built in 1904, the former sheep barn is the oldest surviving building on the Clemson campus and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (1990). The renovated Barnes Student Activity Center was recently awarded a 2018 AIA Georgia Design Merit Award in the Renovation/Restoration category.
