Originally constructed in 1956, the Booker T. Washington High School Auditorium is a two-story, 700-seat steel-framed facility on the University of South Carolina-Columbia campus. Added to the National Register of Historic Places (2018), it is the only remaining structure on the high school campus. MMSA, in anticipation of renovations and new additions to the auditorium, performed an ASCE/SEI 31-03 Tier 1 Seismic Evaluation. Following a seismic evaluation, MMSA also provided structural design services for renovation and addition design, and construction administration services. The new addition and renovation includes construction of an elevator shaft, stairwell addition, and a large rooftop HVAC unit.
